Lo Standard "Valore Sociale"
Uno Standard partecipato di impresa responsabile; un percorso d'eccellenza condiviso con gli stakeholders e la società civile
- aumenta il numero di imprese operanti oltre i confini nazionali in una molteplicità di soluzioni applicative e che producono attività economiche superiori alle reali capacità di controllo di qualsiasi sistema nazionale;
- le imprese possono alimentare il benessere economico di famiglie e Paesi, ma possono anche incidervi negativamente. Oltre al prodotto finale, vanno valutati: pratiche di assunzione, politiche ambientali, interazioni coi governi, rapporti con consumatori e fornitori;
- in termini di solidarietà e giustizia occorre perseguire il soddisfacimento delle necessità fondamentali ed il benessere economico del maggior numero di persone;
- occorre offrire uno strumento serio ed affidabile ad utenti e consumatori per orientare le proprie scelte di consumo compiendo scelte consapevoli.
Valore Sociale oggi...
La fase di diffusione dello standard è ormai completata. La comunicazione attraverso le pagine pubblicitarie su "Il Sole 24 Ore" pubblicate nel corso del 2008 e la presenza ad eventi importanti che hanno visto la partecipazione di imprese, organizzazioni e società civile, ha confermato l'interesse di tutti gli stakeholder verso lo standard che rappresenta una nuova cultura di'impresa. Valore Sociale in questi giorni sta continuando a visitare imprese e organizzazioni che hanno richiesto di essere certificate.

L'Ente accreditato ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica ed Ambientale) è impegnato nella programmazione delle relative visite di controllo.
Il Comitato di Valutazione (Co.Va.) è istituito con il fine fondamentale di verificare ed approvare in nome e per conto del Consiglio Direttivo le proposte di certificazione che arriveranno da Icea per la verifica dei requisiti di conformità allo standard Valore Sociale.
I membri del CoVa nell'espletamento della loro funzione, sono chiamati a rappresentare esclusivamente gli obiettivi dell'Associazione Valore Sociale e gli interessi dei soci.
Il Consiglio Direttivo di Valore Sociale ha nominato a questo incarico i sigg. Roberto Brambilla, Davide Galesso, Francesco Peraro, Daniele Scapigliati, Alessandra Viscovi. Francesco Peraro è stato nominato Presidente.

Lo standard è frutto di una consultazione multistakeholder a cui hanno partecipato decine di esponenti della società civile, delle parti sociali, di istituti di ricerca pubblici e private, delle istituzioni, attraverso i loro delegati costituiti nei seguenti gruppi di lavoro:
Comitato di Partecipazione, formato dai delegati designati da parti sociali - sindacali e datoriali, movimenti di consumatori, pubbliche amministrazioni ed associazioni della società civile; vedi la presentazione del ruolo del Comitato di Partecipazione e da chi è composto.
Comitato Scientifico, formato da esponenti di istituti di ricerca pubblici e privati con specifica competenza in materia di CSR; vedi la composizione.

The “Valore Social” Standard
A shared Standard for responsible businesses; a pathway to excellence shared among stakeholders and civil society
Valore Sociale was launched in January, 2006, based on experience gained by the associations that founded it - Action Aid, Amnesty International Italia, Arci, Fondazione Responsabilità Culturale Etica, Mani Tese, Movimento Difesa del Cittadino, Movimento Consumatori and Ucodep – on matters of Corporate Social Responsibility. The principle aim of the Association is to contribute to the definition, dissemination and implementation of a new culture of corporate social responsibility, founded on instruments of economic, social and environmental sustainability coherent with the principles and values of Italian and international civil society and ethical economics, always remaining aware of the non-economic consequences of economic actions.
Valore Sociale because…
- the number of businesses operating beyond national borders, in a multiplicity of applied solutions, which produce economic activities beyond the current capacity of any national system to control, is increasing;
- businesses can nourish the economic wellbeing of families and countries, but can also impact negatively impact on them. In addition to the final product, the following should be assessed: hiring practices, environmental policies, interactions with governments, relations with consumers and suppliers;
- in terms of solidarity and justice, it is necessary to pursue compliance with the fundamental necessities and the economic wellbeing of the majority of people;
- it is necessary to provide a serious and reliable instrument to users and consumers to guide their consumption choices, thereby making knowledgeable choices.
The phase of disseminating the standard has now been completed. Communication through the classified advertising in “Il Sole 24 Ore,” published in the course of 2008, and the occurrence of important events which have seen the participation of businesses, organisations and civil society, have confirmed the interest of all the stakeholders in the standard, which represents a new business culture. Valore Sociale is currently continuing to visit businesses and organisations that have asked to be certified. Download the Valore Sociale Standard and the glossary.ICEA, the Accredited Body (the Institute for Ethical and Environment Certification) is engaged in scheduling the respective control visits. The Assessment Committee was established for the fundamental purpose of verifying and approving, in the name and on behalf of the Board of Governors, the proposals for certification that arrive from the ICEA, in order to check the requirements for conforming to the Valore Sociale standard.
The members of the Assessment Committee, in carrying out their function, are called to exclusively represent the objectives of the Valore Sociale Association and the interests of the members.
The Board of Governors of Valore Sociale appointed Messrs. Roberto Brambilla, Davide Galesso, Francesco Peraro, Daniele Scapigliati and Alessandra Viscovi to this Committee. The standard is the outcome of a process of multistakeholder consultation to which dozens of exponents of civil society, social parties, public and private research institutes have participated through their delegates, formed into the following work groups: Participation Committee, formed from delegates designated by the social parties – unions and employers, consumer movements, public administrations and civil society associations; see the presentation on the role of the Participation committee and by whom it is composed.
