Ruggie Process
In questa pagina vengono riportati i documenti principali che hanno segnato il periodo di attività 2005-2009 del Rappresentante Speciale per l'Impresa ed i Diritti Umani, Professor John Ruggie. 1) MANDATO: sono i due documeti prodotti dal Human Rights Council, con i quali viene richiesta nel primo caso la nomina del Rappresentante Speciale, nel secondo il suo rinnovo. I documenti contengono inoltre le specifiche che dovranno caratterizzare il triennio di validità del mandato stesso.
2) REPORT: ogni anno il Professor John Ruggie espone dinnanzi al Human Rights Councill lo status di attuazione del proprio mandato, inidicando quanto è stato fatto fino a quel momento, e quanto ancora c'è da fare. Sono presenti, laddove ritenuti necessari, degli addenda a ciascuno di essi, nonchè un rapporto esposto dinanzi all'Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite, risalente al 2008.

3) REPORT: dal 2006 il team del Rapprsentante Speciale ha lavorato intensamente per produrre una serie di rapporti che esaminassero specifiche tematiche. Per ognuna di esse l'obiettivo è stato quello di analizzare il ruolo degli Stati in relazione alle attività d'impresa alla luce dei principali trattati ONU sui diritti umani. 4) CONSULTAZIONI: numerose sono state le consultazioni multi-stakeholder portate avanti dal Rappresentante Speciale. Ruggie Process
On this page, a list is given of the main documents which have marked the operational period of 2005-2009 of the Special Representative for Business and Human Rights, Professor John Ruggie. Given the enormous quantity of material, the documents have been divided into different categories to assist the process of consultation (all are in English). Happy navigation! 1) MANDATE: these are the two documents produced by the Human Rights Council requesting, in the first place, the appointment of the Special Representative, in the second, his renewal. In addition, the documents contain the specific features that must be covered during the three year term of the mandate.
2) REPORT: each year, Professor John Ruggie outlines, before the Human Rights Council, the status of the implementation of his mandate, indicating what has been done up to that moment, and what remains to be done. Where deemed necessary, addenda have been provided for each of these, as well as a report made before the General Assembly of the United Nations, dating from 2008.

3) REPORT: since 2006, the Special Representative’s team have worked intensively to produce a series of reports examining specific issues. In each case, the objective has been to analyse the role of the States with regard to business activities in the light of the principles of UN treaties on human rights. These reports are listed below and may be downloaded.
